Every year, our Plarium studio organizes a charity event Mission: Christmas. Our goal is to provide warm clothes for 250 children who have lost one or both parents as a result of the full-scale invasion. Let’s complete Mission: Christmas together!

The Children of Heroes Charity Fund helps children who have lost one or both parents due to the war. Today, the charity provides comprehensive support to more than 14,000 children. The key programs include psychology and socialization, education and development, medical and humanitarian aid.

How This Event Is Organized

Anastasia

Anastasiia, 18, is a student at Kyiv National University of Economics. She is a determined, intelligent, and incredibly strong young woman who continues to move forward despite the pain of loss.
Her family lives in Balakliia, Kharkiv region. During the occupation of their city, her father, a civilian, was shot dead by the occupiers right in the yard of their home. This brutal event left a deep and lasting scar on the hearts of the family.
Her mother and younger sister still live in Balakliia. They remember their loved one every day — a man who lost his life without even having the chance to say goodbye.
Anastasiia believes that her education and future achievements will be the best way to honor her father’s memory. The family stays strong together — mother and daughter support each other and continue to live with faith in justice and peace.

Sofiia

Sofiia’s family lives in the Chernihiv region. Mother Nataliia is now in her second marriage. Although she and Sofiia’s father were divorced, their daughter is deeply affected by his death. 
Nataliia still cannot come to terms with the loss. When Sofiia’s father was killed in October 2023 during a combat mission, she tried to shield her daughter from the pain but couldn’t stop crying herself. They didn’t talk about it openly, and Sofiia withdrew into herself.
Sofiia finds it hard to trust people and is afraid of meeting new ones. She even refused to join a summer camp, because she feels uncomfortable around strangers.Sofiia does well in school and is interested in makeup. She also draws beautifully, attends an art club, and studies English.

Andriy

Andriy is a lively and brilliant young boy who loves to play with his friends and color pictures in coloring books. However, in Andriy’s own words, the war “took half his heart away from him.”

His father.

Due to the constant shelling, combat and threats from the heavy artillery around them, Andriy’s mother left the capital area around Kyiv with him. Meanwhile, his father stayed back to take care of their home. On March 12th, 2022, Russian soldiers brutally tortured him, tied his hands behind his back and shot him in the yard of the family home, leaving Andriy and his mother without their beloved father and husband.

Mykyta

This family is from Zaporizhzhia. Mother Veronika and her son Mykyta live in their own apartment. Mykyta’s father volunteered in the first days of the full-scale invasion. He was killed in the Zaporizhzhia region, in the Polohy district, while on a combat mission.This year, Mykyta is applying to a medical college. He has already taken his exams and is waiting for the results. He’s very anxious because he dreams of becoming a surgeon, just like his father wanted.Mykyta is a calm and home-loving boy. After his father’s death, he withdrew into himself and kept his emotions inside for a long time, which later turned into bursts of anger. His father often served away from home, so Mykyta misses the time they never got to spend together.

Alina

Alina’s family has endured war twice. They fled Luhansk in 2014 and settled in Kyiv, where they managed to rebuild their lives. Alina’s mother remarried and gave birth to her. In February, their nightmare returned. On March 5, Alina’s father left home and never returned. The family barely escaped through a green corridor after multiple attempts, but her mother stayed close, searching for him. In late April, his body was found in a nearby town, brutally tortured and executed. Both children are now without a father. Her brother, now 13, is pursuing an interest in IT. Alina, a curious and imaginative girl, loves unicorns and role-playing princesses. The family is struggling financially to meet all their needs.

Oleksandr

In May of this year, the family lost their father—he was killed in the city of Lyman in the Donetsk region. He was a kind and decent man who loved his children very much.
During the shelling from mortars, their mother and the children hid in the basement, covering them with her body, while their father protected them from the other side. Everyone was afraid that the ceiling would collapse. They prayed together. At that moment, their mother decided to save the children, and the family managed to escape to Dnipro, where they now live in the “Nadiia” church.
However, the man with whom their mother had spent 30 years chose to stay in Lyman. He did not want to leave their home to the mercy of looters and occupiers. Soon, the family received the news that he was no longer among the living.
Now, their mother is left alone with two children in a city where she had never been before. They have no relatives in Ukraine, and all the responsibility now rests solely on her.
